field heatmap: bigger target = brighter
How big is the goal — the target you can actually hit — from anywhere on the pitch.
A slower shot or more reaction lag opens the goal up. A penalty is too quick to read, so reading the shot earns the keeper almost nothing.
FIFA pitch 105×68 m · goal 7.32×2.44 m. From a tight side angle the goal shrinks toward zero; a hard shot effectively enlarges it because defenders get less time to react.
Model simplifications: shots are straight lines (no curl, dip or chip); the field heatmap uses a coarse goal grid; the keeper's dive is a growing reach, not a committed direction.
